Farms, Farm Stands & Farmers Markets

Tiverton & Little Compton are home to some of the most charming farms, farm stands and farmers markets in Rhode Island. Whether you’re picking up just-picked strawberries, wandering through flower fields, or saying hello to friendly alpacas, these local spots capture the heart of the Farm Coast life. From roadside stands bursting with seasonal produce to working farms where kids can meet the animals, this guide highlights our favorite places to experience the rural beauty and fresh flavors of the area. Don’t miss a chance to support local growers, stock your vacation kitchen, or simply slow down and savor the rhythm of coastal farm country.

Pick Your Own Farms

Quonset View Farm

We spent many June mornings here when my kids were small. We would bring our own baskets. They weigh them on the way in, than then weigh them on the way out and calculate how many pounds of strawberries to charge you for. They should have weighed the kids, because I’m pretty sure they lost money on us with how many they ate while we were in the fields. June is the best time of year for strawberries, you can give them a call before you head to the farm. Their contact information can be found here.

Boughs & Berries Farm

This was our go-to place for blueberries in July, as early in the morning as we could mange before it got too hot. They had cand that were tied to strings we looped around our necks. Insider’s tip- pick as close to the bird call speaker as your ears will tolerate- the berries are the biggest there! More info about the farm here.

Old Stone Orchard

It’s not fall until you have a day of apple picking, and this was our place. The trees are short, easily accessible for everyone. They also have pears and pumpkins. It’s a great fall day for kids of all ages, because they also have animals to visit- chickens, goats, pigs, turkeys & ducks. Visit their website here.

Young Family Farm

The Young Family is thriving here in Little Compton. They have so many pick your own options-

Strawberries: Early June – early July
Blueberries: Late July – mid-August
Flowers: Mid-June – October
Tomatoes: Late July – September
Apples: Late August – early October

They are also one of our favorite farm stands in town with flowers to plant, cut flowers, fruits & vegetables. The Nitro Bar will have their coffee trailer at the farmstand this year and they are opening an event venue, Orchard View. Stay up to date with all happening at the Young Family Farm.

Farm Stands

Wishing Stone Farm

Wishing Stone Farm has been an LC legend for 40+ years. They have 40 acres of farmland with 15 greenhouse structures around our town. They are located at 25 Shaw Road Little Compton RI and are open June-October Weekends & Wednesdays 10-5 for fresh vegetables, eggs and prepared foods. Learn more here.

Sweet & Salty Farm

Sweet & Salty Farm is a small dairy in Little Compton, Rhode Island. They farm a beautiful piece of land that goes right down to the ocean’s edge (this was previously my high school friend’s farm, and one of the people whose influence led us to move to Little Compton ourselves). They milk a small herd of grass-fed Jersey cows and process their own milk into yogurt and cheese at the on-farm creamery. Their home farmstand is open most summer Saturdays June-September and they are also at many of the local farmers markets. To learn more about this wonderful family, visit their website here.

Small World Farm

Small World Farm is one of the newer farms in LC, although the owners have probably been farming for their family their entire lives. In May of 2021 Claire & Patrick bought a two acre orchard from the previously mentioned Old Stone Orchard, this property was abutting their family home. They have been since transitioning the farm to growing organically. The traditional post and beam farm stand is stunning! Find out what is new with Small World Farm here.

White Rock Farm

White Rock Farm offers GMO & Antibiotic Free Beef. Their cows are 100% Pasture Raised -grass fed & grass finished. They are open weekends 12-5 and offer free delivery to Little Compton, Tiverton & Westport. Learn more about White Rock Farm here.

Orr’s Family Farm

Orr’s Family farm was established in 2007 by Andrew Orr. While working at the former Wood Farm throughout his high school years Andrew had the opportunity to purchase the 14 acre parcel of land upon graduation. He has continued farming this land and planting new crops, sugar cane being the latest experiment. Visit the farmstand on Adamsville Road in Westport from May-December, and check for updates here.

Roots Farm

Roots Farm is a certified organic farm on East Road in Tiverton. They use hoop houses with regenerative and no till methods. They have an easy to use on line ordering form, participate in the local farmers markets or you could purchase weekly shares. See what their offerings are here.

Skinny Dip Farm

Hannah and Ben offer a wide range of certified organic vegetables and herbs as well as no-spray flowers. They sell everything we grow as locally as possible, so you can find them at the Westport Farmers Market. Visit their website for more information.

Stonegate Nurseries

A new farm in Tiverton owned by our nephew and his family offering farm fresh eggs, vegetables, and an assortment of plants.

Little State Flower Co

If you want to add some stunning color to your home away from home, I would recommend stopping at Little State Flower Co on East Road in Tiverton. They are open every weekend Friday-Sunday or at farmers markets on Saturdays. Find out more about their sustainable flower farming here.
