Tiverton and Little Compton are full of small-town charm, and that includes plenty of kid-friendly things to do for families. Whether you want to feed alpacas at a local farm, collect shells along a quiet beach (Fogland), or grab ice cream (Handy Hill & visit the goats) after a day outside, this area offers simple pleasures and outdoor fun that kids of all ages can enjoy. In this guide, we’ve gathered our favorite family-friendly spots. This includes playgrounds, nature trails (Dundery Brook Trail), hands-on farm stands (Old Stone Orchard) and casual places to eat (The Bayside). These ideas are perfect for slow mornings, spontaneous adventures, or those magical moments when kids are happily tired and the grownups can exhale.
Playgrounds
Little Compton Commons Playground is located in the town commons and has a modern fenced in playground. Additionally, kids will love playing at the basketball courts, soccer field, a walking track and tennis/pickleball courts.
Town Farm Playground is newly renovated and includes two separate play areas on either side of the walking track. There are also baseball, softball and soccer fields located here.
Furthermore, families often enjoy the playgrounds throught Little Compton & Tiverton. They appreciate these safe, open-air spaces where children can play freely.
Museums
I highly recommend going to the Tiverton Public Library or Brownell Library. They have museum passes for free or discounted admission.
Our top recommendations are The Providence Children’s Museum, Save the Bay’s Exploration Center & Aquarium and the Audubon Nature Center & Aquarium.
Right here in Little Compton you can visit the Wilbor House, home of the Little Compton Historical Society.
